Taking Orders - Duet - Part Two
He groaned in disappointment, but I slid from him, stood at the bottom of the bed, and slowly stripped off.
It was mid-morning when we woke. Both fully dressed, just shoes and coats discarded before we fell into bed, both exhausted.
It’d been an amazing night. The success of the busiest and most enjoyable work night at my restaurant. Not one drama or complaint to taint the evening. Sharing our success by donating a bigger number of meals than ever at the homeless centre, and me getting hands on there for the first time. It was all firmly etched into my memory.
I could mention the moment I thought I was going to be found dead, after being attacked by a man who found me alone after hours. But that attack never happened. The huge stranger who walked in and found me alone in my kitchen, just the brother of the priest who I partnered with for the homeless food project.
Now he was here, lying next to me.
